THE CHASE
Format: Distance: 5 km
Format: Individual vs. Relay Team of 2
Overview:
In this unique race, each relay team of two will be assigned to an individual runner whom they will 'chase.' Teams can choose a specific individual runner to compete against or 26 will pair runners together.
An individual runner may compete against multiple teams of 2.
Race Structure:
  • Relay Teams: Composed of 2 runners who will swap every 400 m. In total, relay teams will cover 5.2 km.
  • Individual Runners: Each will run a total of 5 km and start with a 200 m advantage.
Start:
  • Both the individual runners and the relay teams will start simultaneously from opposite sides of the track.
Objectives:
  • Individual Runner: Your goal is to stay ahead of the chasing relay team.
  • Relay Team: Your goal is to catch and overtake the individual runner.
Finish: Both the relay team and individual runners must complete the entire race.
Please note that it's during public time at Aberdeen track so we must still be respectful of members of the public also using the track.
